According to ESPN the new A’s stadium on Tropicana costs around 2 billion dollars to build, contains 33.000 seats, is climate controlled with a retractable roof, and currently under construction on the old Tropicana hotel site. It is currently set to open in 2028.
According to ESPN the A’s president, Marc Badain, was instrumental in getting Allegiant Stadium built in record time for the 2020 NFL season. The projected price of the A’s stadium has changed twice, originally estimated at 1.5 billion dollars and then going up to 1.75 billion dollars. Clark County approved up to 380 million dollars in public funding, while the A’s have said they’ll cover the rest. With that, John Fisher, owner of the A’s, is now seeking investors to decrease the pocket cost for the baseball franchise. However, Sandy Dean, the Vice Chairman of the A’s team, said they do not yet have an update on that.

However on the A’s Ballpark Website people can tune in and see the newest currently recorded updates of how the A’s stadium is looking. They are calling it the Construction Cam, so baseball fans around the valley can have the latest updates on the new stadium. In an article by 3 News they state how there was a ceremony held for the ground breaking stadium earlier in 2025. Since that point, frames have been under construction for the venue with the first few decks of seating nearly complete.
Ryan Pajak, a sophomore on the Shadow Ridge Baseball Team states, “I think the new A’s stadium is cool, I just wish they expanded the Earl E. Wilson Baseball Stadium we already have in Vegas.”
Foundation for a team clubhouse has also been started. According to Review Journal the new exclusive high end club space will be behind the home plate at the strip ball park. Anamark stated that this will be a first of its kind club, with an all-inclusive space for season pass members, private restaurants, supper club lounge, and unique game day experiences.
LVsportsBiz states the stadium roof will also be retractable which will add tens of millions of dollars to the plan. However the roof would be able to retract with five shell like structures and they are calling it the “spherical armadillo” reference. They also state that the stadium’s primary entrance will be through the outfield. Finally, the stadium will have a cable net glass window which will be the world’s largest of its type.
Coach Dubois states, “For the player I am most excited about, I think the obvious fun player is Nick Kurtz . I am definitely excited about the stadium. Just the chance of having professional sports here in general is exciting, but the stadium itself looks incredible and so fun.”
