All American is one of the most prestigious, highly-selective athletic programs in the country, with one particular student athlete making headlines left and right. As a profound addition to the flag football team here at Shadow, senior Kyla Moore, in her strong athletic abilities, has astonished recruiters.

Being granted this opportunity after playing flag football for the past three years, Moore expresses, “It is absolutely surreal to be chosen for such an amazing program, and I’m truly honored to be selected as an All American.”

Moore has worked immensely hard in her flag football career, as she has now received such an amazing opportunity. As she works harder and grows more with each new season, Moore finds that a supportive environment shown within the team has helped her to build her skills.

Moore explains, “I enjoy the support factor of playing in a team sport, especially when I know that I can lean on my teammates and trust their blocks during a game. This communication helps me  successfully do my job, while my teammates do theirs. It especially helps during games, when we all share the mutual trust to build off of each other.”

With such an encouraging team, Moore has been able to utilize this sense of community to work harder and harder, even during times when she may be going through a rough patch.

“The support from both my coaches and teammates definitely motivates me to try to be the best at what I do, and to never give up, even when I may fail at times,” Moore says.

Moore works hard at what she does, as she continues to impress those within her community everyday. With such strong determination to do her very best, Moore is truly a wonderful asset to the team.

Flag football coach for Shadow Ridge, Coach Matthew Nighswonger states, “It has been great working with Kyla from season to season. Not only is she a great student, but she is also an outstanding athlete and leader of the team. She has now been a great help as part of the flag football leadership group for two seasons.”

With such leadership, Moore strives to use her knowledge and experience to spread the inspiration that she holds to the wondrous members of her community.

Moore conveys, “Although I do not plan on playing flag football in college, I would still like to be involved with the sport by possibly being a mentor to the youth in my community.”
