Shadow Ridge’s flag football team has built something bigger than just wins, they’ve built what many now call the “Mustang Dynasty.”
With four state championships in the last five years, the program has set a standard across Nevada that few teams can match.
For players, though, it’s not just about trophies. It’s about the culture, the work, and the bond they share.
For senior, Isabella Turo, being part of the team goes beyond the game itself.
“My favorite thing about being a Mustang is the resilience we have as a team. No matter what happens win or loss we always come back stronger. There’s a unique chemistry between these girls on and off the field. I’ve made long lifetime friends,” Turo said.
That connection shows up in how the team handles challenges. Instead of falling apart under pressure, they seem to respond even better.
Turo explained, “What makes this dynasty special is our mindset and our program. We don’t fold during tough times we lock in and get to work. We hold each other accountable and push each other every day.”
Other players share a similar perspective when it comes to growth.
Senior, Jaylani Palmer described how the team has shaped her mentality over time.

“I realized that you need to work for what you want, and every time you put in hard work and effort that it’ll all come back to you in return,” Palmer stated.
Moments on the biggest stage have also left a lasting impact.
Playing at Allegiant Stadium is something the team won’t forget.
“The most memorable moment from my championship runs was undoubtedly the state championship game at Allegiant Stadium,” Palmer said.
Even with all the success, much of what drives the team happens behind the scenes.
Long practices, extra effort, and strong support systems all play a role.
Turo pointed out, “People don’t see the work we put in behind the scenes… that’s what really makes us successful.”
Senior, Ashlyn Mitchell highlighted another key factor that separates the team.
“I think what makes this team different is the amount of work we put in the off-season,” Mitchell said.
That preparation has helped the Mustangs stay consistent year after year.
Looking ahead, the players want the legacy to be about more than championships.
“I want us to be remembered as a team that won 4 State Titles and never gave up,” Turo said.
Mitchell added, “I want this team to be remembered as a group of girls who were willing to do anything to work toward winning.”
The Mustang Dynasty isn’t just about dominance, it’s about resilience, unity, and setting a standard that future teams will try to follow.
