Shadow Ridge Men’s Volleyball is back, and with it comes hard work, dedication, and big expectations from all student athletes and coaches. Intramurals are over, making way for season play with three new coach selected teams, freshman, JV, and varsity. The Shadow Ridge men’s volleyball program has been known for excellence since its beginning.
Coach Wilson states, “I expect my players to be good human beings, good students, and most importantly hard working on the court. Effort is something that goes a long way with me. I always want my athletes to be good in the classroom as well as on the court.”
Coach Wilson has created a program with hand picked coaching staff who will help the student athletes reach their full potential and improve their skills.
“We have the best, most experienced coaching staff in the city. Our coaches know how to train athletes to be their best, and we push them to be better every day at practice and in games. Our athletes are known for being tireless and scrappy until the last point. We know that the program comes first and our athletes do a good job representing that,” Wilson said.

One of Wilson’s coaching staff is Elvin Bower, who leads the SRHS freshman team.
Coach Bower says, “I expect new students to work hard and be dedicated to the game. As for me as a coach, I push players mentally to find their true potential. I expect every new student in the program to work hard and grow in the game of volleyball.”
Bower was part of the Nevada State Championship winning team for men’s volleyball in 2007, so he brings a wealth of experience and school pride to the program.
He went on to say, “Being a player once myself back when the program first started, I know what it takes to win state. I also expect student athletes to take pride in their academics along with their athletics. I hope they play for the other players on the court and not just themselves. SRHS Men’s Volleyball is one of the most successful programs at Shadow Ridge and it’s the years of tradition and values that have been established since 2007. I love this program and that’s why I coach.”
With coaches like these, and with hand-picked squads, the 2026 Shadow Ridge Men’s Volleyball season is shaping up to be a fantastic season as long as players are willing to give their best effort on and off the court.
