The Shadow Ridge Mustangs Varsity Boys Basketball Team continues to excel their dominance in the 2025-2026 Nevada high school basketball scene, riding a wave of momentum that has pushed their record to an impressive 16-5. Following another 67-58 victory over Somerset Sky Pointe in January, the Mustangs have stabilized their reputation as a contender, showcasing a combination of high level offense and stingy defense that has proven difficult for opponents to overcome.
The recent win against Somerset Sky Pointe was a testament to the team’s resilience. This victory not only improved their standing but also halted their opponent’s three-game winning streak. This performance is consistent with the team’s strong, aggressive play throughout the season, which has seen them consistently out-performing rivals on the court.
“I don’t try, I do,” states junior Marcus Jennings
Another defining moment in their recent campaign was a tough, nail-biting 66-63 win over Southeast Career Tech on January 5th. This particular contest showed the chemistry of the team, proving they can win close games even after, or leading up to, major challenges. This victory was part of a five-out-of-six win stretch, raising them to a 12-4 record at that time and stabilizing their place as a top-tier contender.

“The win we had made us feel prouder and stronger as a team,” says junior Terrence Lee
The key to their success has been a balanced attack. The Mustangs have often showcased multiple players contributing significant points and rebounds. In their mid-season win streak, the team showed they can dominate early, often setting a high pace that opponents struggle to match. Their offensive prowess has been a highlight, frequently crossing the 60-point mark as demonstrated in various games where the scoring was heavily weighted in their favor by halftime.
Looking at their standings, the Mustangs have demonstrated, they are not just winning, but doing so consistently at home and on the road. With strong performances against teams like Cheyenne, where they secured a 73-56 win on January 22nd,the team is entering the final stretch of the season with immense confidence.
“Throughout this season I have seen talent and love with all the players.” says senior Amari Blakeney.
The Mustangs’ ability to maintain a high level of play under pressure, combined with their depth, makes them a dangerous opponent as they look ahead to deeper, more critical matchups in their conference. Their recent form, marked by efficient shooting and rebounding, ensures they will remain a dominant force for the rest of the season.
