As the spring season is approaching, Shadow Ridge’s Men’s Volleyball will also be taking back the court. Earlier this year, the preseason meeting for students who were interested in trying out was December 11,2025, with coach Luke Wilson hosting the meeting and informing newcomers and returners. The first intramural of the season was on Tuesday January 20th. For students who want to ask for more information about the season, Coach Wilson is in room 807.
Coach Wilson isn’t just a role model for his athletes, but a mentor to students who take his math class. Wilson balances both his school and coaching life by organizing and prioritizing what he knows what needs to be done. He pushes his athletes to success, and to better themselves. He wants the best for his athletes, and to put them in a place where they feel safe and to work hard for what they want.
Wilson brings plenty of experience and a passion for the sport to the volleyball program. He emphasizes the importance of fundamental skills, strategic gameplay, and positive team dynamics. Wilson is committed to fostering an environment where athletes can grow both as players and individuals, instilling values such as discipline, perseverance, and sportsmanship.
“My goal every season is to win a state title,” Wilson states. “Off the court it is always my goal to develop these young men into good contributing humans after high school.”
As the season approaches, Wilson has set attainable goals. His primary focus is improving his athletes overall performance and achieving a winning record. During intramurals, he scopes out athletes who have a positive attitude, good sportsmanship, and have great hand eye coordination when it comes to the play. The program aims to be competitive in their league and make a strong push during tournaments. Beyond wins and losses, the team is dedicated to representing Shadow Ridge with pride and integrity.

Sophomore Christian Mills, who is a returner, says, “I’m most excited to get better at volleyball and being able to play my favorite sport. The people with whom I play are amazing people and I’m excited to play with them.”
The Shadow Ridge Men’s Volleyball Team benefits from strong support from the school and local community. When the season arrives, parents, students, and others are encouraged to attend games to support and cheer on the Mustangs.
