Sophomore Keeley Hoskins works hard to capture the complete essence of the Shadow Ridge Cheer Team through photos and videos. She has a lot of enjoyment in the creation process which is why she signed up to be the content creator. It’s also one of the reasons she’s so good at her job.
Even while being behind the scenes, Hoskins still manages to enjoy herself. With all of the excitement and energy during game days, it’s hard for her not to get amped up too.
Hoskins said “It’s fun turning those hype moments into content everyone can relive.”
She doesn’t just get to live the memories but she also gets to create something so that everyone can experience the best moments again.
While the sport of cheer is a lot of fun, it also takes a lot of dedication and hard work. Being on the other side of the camera has shown Hoskins this new perspective.
“People don’t realize how much discipline and athleticism cheer requires. Every move is practiced, timed, and perfected,” says Hoskins.
After seeing all of this tedious effort, Hoskins wanted to show others how amazing the team really is in hopes that everyone would appreciate them just as much as she does. She hopes that in the posts she makes, this is possible.
Not only are her posts for the public but they’re also for the team themselves.
Hoskins explained, “Seeing the team excited about the content is the best feeling. It’s meaningful knowing I help capture memories.”
Hoskins main goal after every post is just to make someone smile. When her media makes someone happy, all of her work is worth it to her.
Even though Hoskins loves the job she has doing content, it can still get stressful sometimes. Between finding the perfect music and picking the right shots, it can be difficult for her to get the job finished.
“Keeping everything consistent and high-quality can be challenging. There’s pressure because everything I post represents the team,” said Hoskins.
There’s definitely a meticulous process of making sure everything Hoskins creates is worthy of being posted. She wants the cheer team to look as good as they really are so she highlights as much as she can to really showcase their abilities.
Despite just being the person behind the camera, Hoskins will always be a major part of the team and is always there to give them support.
