Basketball has begun as the winter sports season is now in full effect. Basketball student athletes here at Shadow Ridge are back, working harder than ever, looking forward to making this their best season yet!

Junior, Bryce Cannon states, “I have been playing basketball for the team at Shadow Ridge for the past three years.”

Students at Shadow Ridge find both basketball games and practices to always be an enjoyable and memorable experience, as these student athletes continue to put their all into every practice and game. With such a highly motivated and competitive atmosphere, there’s never a dull moment on the court.

“I always enjoy the games the most, because it’s more of a competitive environment, as we get the chance to play against good competition. This gives me the chance to work more on my skills for future games,” Cannon explains.

The members of this team share such an immaculate bond, supporting one another as they work towards success both on and off the court. Having such a supportive environment from coaches and teammates can really make or break a team. The basketball team here at Shadow Ridge sustains this atmosphere, in the sense that the members of this team build each other up to assist each player in playing at their very best.

Cannon Expresses, “When my coaches encourage me, it gives me the confidence to play better. When my teammates encourage me, it allows me to play better with them as a team, because I am able to know that they have my back on the court.”

These student athletes have established a community of dedicated team members, with each and every athlete contributing to the overall success of Shadow Ridge’s basketball program. This sense of community establishes a more motivational atmosphere, as everyone works together to enhance the team’s abilities during games.

Junior, Jonah Escoto explains, Now that I have been playing for the Shadow Ridge basketball team since freshman year, I have found that I most enjoy the culture of both the team and the sport. I always feel like my teammates have my back during games, and we always have a great time both on and off the court.”

These student athletes are constantly working together, with full commitment to the sport. This sense of mutual effort has helped to sustain such a hard-working team, with each member equally contributing to the team’s potential.
