Senior Anyelis Rodriguez Ramos is graduating from Shadow Ridge High School as the Class of 2026 and is now making her name known at SUU (Southern Utah University). Rodriguez Ramos has been named as a SUU Ambassador, which also qualifies her for full tuition at Southern Utah University. Rodriguez is excited to start her journey at SUU as an ambassador.
This is more than just a change of scenery for Rodriguez Ramos. Rodriguez Ramos is leaping into leadership roles and service opportunities throughout the community. Rodriguez Ramos is known for her vibrant personality and dedication to community involvement. She fell in love with the campus and the community surrounding the college. She has been to a few of SUU Red Riot events, and she didn’t regret one thing. She thoroughly enjoyed the experience and immediately fell in love with the idea of becoming a part of the Student Union Ambassador committee. She wants to enter her freshman year in college making changes and becoming a part of something bigger.
“SUU is a beautiful school,” Rodriguez Ramos assures. “I fell so in love with the surroundings and its academic opportunities, and the people there. I am very excited to be a part of this group and experience new things. The main reason why I wanted to become an ambassador is because when I attended the Red Riots, the ambassadors were very nice and helpful, and they made me feel very comfortable.”
SUU has a number of careers for students to experience. Knowing what she wants to pursue, Rodriguez Ramos has set her mind on pursuing civil engineering as her career. She wants to become a civil engineer not only because she loves math and designing things, but because the people in her life who she is close with are civil engineers.
Senior and Editor in Chief of Yearbook, Kaitlyn Cory says, “Angie demonstrates qualities of being a SUU Ambassador because she quickly jumps in to help out in any situation. When it came to editing with me for the yearbook this year, she took on a large role and was a huge help!”
Looking ahead, Rodriguez Ramos is eager to collaborate with her soon to be fellow ambassadors and staff to create a welcoming and supportive environment for all students. Her dedication and vision make her an ideal representative for the student body and a promising leader for the future at SUU.
