Junior Robert Stroud, a name already making heads turn, is balancing both his school life and his musical life. Throughout his years, the Chamber Choir has given Stroud a sense of community and belonging. It has pushed Stroud to work harder, helped him grow more confidence, and given him a group of people to look forward to everyday.
His journey in the choir is not just about hitting the right notes, it’s a testament to his dedication, growth, and the unique contributions he brings to the ensemble. With Stroud’s strong powerful vocals, the Chamber Choir never fails to give a powerful and mesmerizing performance. Stroud is a Tenor 1, meaning he often sings the higher tenor parts and rags the brighter and more energetic lines in the music.
From classic to originals, Chamber Choir has performed many pieces that never fail to touch hearts. One piece that never fails to attract Stroud’s heart is “Let My Love Be Heard” because it challenged them both musically and emotionally. The complexity and emotional depth of the piece challenged him and his fellow choir members to push their boundaries and explore new vocal techniques. Stroud recalls spending countless hours studying the sheet, practicing his part, and working with his ensemble.
“I loved how the harmonies came together,” Stroud states, “and performing it made me feel proud of how much we’ve grown as an ensemble.”

Stroud’s involvement in the Chamber Choir goes beyond singing. He embodies the spirit of collaboration and commitment that is essential to the choir’s success. Known for his positive attitude and willingness to help his fellow choir members, Stroud is a true team player.
“I think the essential skills and qualities for success in Chamber Choir are teamwork, strong listening skills, commitment, and a positive attitude,” Stroud states. “You have to be willing to practice, blend with others, and stay focused so the group can sound its best.”
Looking ahead, Stroud hopes to continue his musical journey beyond high school. Stroud has spent unforgettable years with Chamber Choir and has built strong bonds and built family like relationships with each other. Throughout the years being in the Chamber Choir, he has been taught numerous things that are essential in life. For example, Stroud has been taught that strong communication skills and a positive attitude can get students anywhere in life. Chamber Choir doesn’t only change Stroud musically, but emotionally. He emphasizes that the pieces choir puts together have a meaning that everyone should deeply listen to.
“I believe Robert is a really talented singer,” states sophomore Logan Bejansano, “His tenor voice just amazes me and I believe he is a valuable asset to this choir.”
Stroud’s haunting voice has not only made a big impact in the choir, but the choir loves the amount of effort and love that he shares throughout the whole choir. Stroud’s participation in the Chamber Choir enhances the enriching opportunities available to young musicians. His dedication not only magnifies the choir’s performance but also contributes positively to the school’s cultural environment, showcasing the importance of arts in education and the development of well-rounded individuals.
