Junior, Alina Pavlovich has had an impressive season on the Varsity Softball Team, showcasing both her skill and dedication to the game. With a strong work ethic and a passion for the sport, Pavlovich has made a significant impact on the field, contributing to her team’s success. Whether she’s at bat or in the field, her athleticism and determination have been evident throughout the season, earning her respect from teammates and coaches alike.

Pavlovich says, “The season has been going well, we are faced with good teams but our team is very well structured and has a good culture and athletes. My standout moment has been the game against Gorman. The whole team did very well and I hit 2 of my first home runs in my high school career. I have seen a lot of improvement on my throwing and how I hit my target a lot.”
Pavlovich says she was recently in a slump but more and more she focuses on the mental part of the game and visualizes her approach before going up to bat and has been coming out successful in the end.

“I try to calm myself and treat it as any regular up bat. In the dugout I try to calm my nerves before going on deck and once I step out of the dugout I tune everything out and focus on my approach and success,” says Pavlovich.
Pavlovich looks at the fun and good moments. It helps her focus on what she loves doing and that she gets to do it with the people that she loves. It helps her remember to not take anything for granted.
Pavlovich says, “I am very proud of the team’s performance this year, we are all supporting each other and keep battling through tough times. I am most proud of how our team hasn’t lost focus. We are all here to do what we love and guide each other.”
As Shadow Ridge’s softball team gets closer and closer to the end of their year, they start to see more progress by every game. Pavlovich has had an incredible attitude, and always brings more energy and skill to the field to help the softball team go far.
“My best friend Giselle Castellanos is always there for me and has always helped me grow as a player ever since we were 8. She helps me focus and dial in during mental blocks and always gives me input,” says Pavlovich.
