One of Shadow Ridge’s varsity cheerleaders, sophomore Breanna Buczeskie, fell in love with her sport. She looks up to her coaches, and works hard to impress them every day. Buczeskie started cheerleading at a young age and hasn’t stopped since.

Buczeskie states, “Cheer is definitely my rhyme or reason for everything. I am most inspired by Coach Sher, who has recently stepped into a big role as our varsity coach. I am equally as proud of her as much as I want to be like her. I hope to show her and everyone what I’m capable of as I cheer for Shadow and hopefully further in my cheer career.”

Buczeskie strives to impress her coaches, teammates, and her friends with her skills, she dedicates countless hours to practice and perfect her routines, to show people what she is capable of.

Buczeskie continues to say, “Aside from on the mat, we have team bondings every month and once in a while we have bondings with the whole cheer program. We’ve painted memory boxes and pumpkins and other fun activities but I think we bond the most over cheer camp and competitions when we share rooms together and get to spend time as teammates and as best friends. It’s so important that we are able to be a team and love each other more than anything.”

The team bonds outside of practice, and Buczeskie became best friends with all of her teammates, it benefits them so that they can work together easily in their routines so that they go smoothly.

Buczeskie stated, “In elementary school, my friend’s mom was the coach for a pom pom squad to help the younger girls learn about cheer before making the team. Once I joined, I immediately fell in love with the sport and the community. I have looked up to the Shadow Ridge cheerleaders for as long as I can remember. Living my childhood dream, I have learned and grown in unimaginable ways and I’m forever grateful for my team and my coaches for making these years the best memories of my life. I hope as the next 3 years fly by, I am able to continuously grow and soak up every two minutes and thirty seconds.”
