Marvel Studios has given all Marvel fans another show to binge watch after coming out with WandaVision. WandaVision was released on January 15th, 2021, and concluded on March 5th. It is the first series in Phase Four of The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU for short). The most recent Marvel show made fans very excited when they first heard the news of its release.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier debuted on March 19th, 2021, and has already accumulated many viewers. This series is about how Sam Wilson aka The Falcon (Anthony Mackie) and Bucky Barnes aka The Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan) team up to test their abilities in a global adventure. Following the events of the movie Avengers: Endgame, the show focuses on the lives of these two characters.

Characters in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier

“The Winter Soldier” makes his first appearance in Captain America: The First Avenger as James Buchanan Barnes (Nicknamed Bucky). He is Steve Rogers’s (Captain America) best friend in the movie and shows more about both of their pasts. In Captain America: The Winter Soldier viewers find out that Bucky, even though believed to be dead turns out to be The Winter Soldier. After being brainwashed he turns into a human killing machine with no free will.

To stop him, Captain America partners up with none other than Natasha Romanoff (Black Widow) and his old running partner The Falcon. In this series of events leading up to the show, viewers get to see a little more about Steve, Bucky, and Sam’s friendship before Steve decides to go back into the past to reunite with Peggy.

While watching the show fans come to find out that The Falcon and the Winter Soldier actually takes place before the last Avengers movie (Avengers: Endgame). Although there isn’t that much information about the exact date that the show is set in it is said that this is all occurring a few months after the Blip. During the first episode, viewers see that Sam is holding the shield that Steve Rogers trusted him with and it seems to be burdening him. He doesn’t feel as though he’s ready for the Captain America title yet.

Upon watching episode 2 of the show John Walker (played by Wyatt Russel) is introduced as an American soldier who ends up with Cap’s alias and shield and is now taking up the Captain America role. In the other episodes, there is more information about all that is happening and there is more action. As of now, there are 5 episodes that fans can watch and the season finale will come out on Friday, April 23. WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier can be watched on Disney+. Don’t worry about not having something to look forward to after the show ends though because Marvel also announced that the Loki series will be released on June 11, 2021, so make sure to look out for that.
