Around the Shadow Ridge campus, from early in the morning to late at night, mysterious trucks have been seen driving around the school. These trucks were first noticed last year and have continued to be sighted by both teachers and students.
Tania Mason, a teacher at Shadow Ridge, shared what she has observed during her morning commute. Mason stated, “Every morning, like the wee hours of the morning when I’m dragging into school, they stop all down Aliante and come up Horse, and then they go past Decatur, and I don’t know where they go.” She continued, “But they stop at random places and whoever’s driving pulls out a clipboard and fills out something, and then they move on.”
The suspicious actions of these trucks have left students and staff both confused and curious. Many students wonder what the drivers are doing every day and what their purpose is around the school.

Student Anna Scow shared her experience seeing the trucks frequently, especially during cross country practice. Scow said, “They drive around every single day before school and after school. Last year during cross country practice, and this year too, we would just see them driving around. When we run up to the gun range, they go up there a lot. Sometimes when we would go for hills later in practice, they would just be going back and forth.”
Scow also described a moment that felt especially strange to the team. She explained, “One time they stopped, and a couple of them were just there. We ran by and it was really creepy.”
Many cross country athletes remember seeing the trucks around campus last year as well, which makes their continued presence this year even more noticeable.
Mason described what the trucks look like and how they have changed over time. She said, “They look like Amazon trucks, but they don’t actually say Amazon. And they have Michigan plates on them.” She also mentioned a change in their appearance this year. “This year they’ve been painted white. Last week we saw them again. Now they’re white, so it almost seems like they’re trying to be sneaky.”
Students have also shared rumors and theories about the trucks, but no one seems to know exactly what they are doing.
Audrey Luth is another student who has witnessed the trucks regularly. She said, “I’ve heard lots of rumors about it, but every single morning and at specific times after school we see them. It’s always the same girl driving the same white truck, and they’re always going down the same road at the same times. It’s kind of sketchy.”

Mason added that the behavior of the drivers continues to raise questions. “They just keep stopping and writing stuff down in these unmarked trucks. We saw them all last week for sure.”
For many students, what makes the situation even stranger is where the trucks appear. Scow explained, “I’ve never seen them anywhere else other than around the school.”
The trucks seem to appear everywhere around the Shadow Ridge campus, yet nowhere else nearby. For now, the mystery of the suspicious trucks remains unsolved, leaving students and staff wondering what exactly they are doing and why they continue to circle the campus.
