In today’s world filled with new technology and amazing advancements there are many things that occupy people’s attention like school, technology, or hobbies that compete for an individual’s time. These hobbies, whatever they are, can sometimes hinder people from giving the attention a body needs to grow strong and healthy. Sometimes, when a person begins to exercise and work out, they start strong, and see improvement, and then for some reason, whether people slowly make excuses to do less workouts, or something happens in a person’s life that stops them from staying active, they quit, and won’t stay fit for a long time. The answer is quite simple but it’s easier said than done. The best way to be fit, and stay fit, is to stay consistent in whatever workouts people do.
According to the National Library of Medicine, 80% of all teens worldwide are insufficiently active. These problems lead to, as the National Library of Medicine says, “cardio-metabolic and mental health disorders.” Put in simple terms, teens need to be active in order to have a healthy heart, body, and mind.
David Kivvet, a Shadow Ridge High School weights and conditioning teacher explains, “You have to find what workout works best for you, and consistency is key. So first find out what works best, then stay consistent. Consistency in staying fit is finding a workout that works for your body, that works individually, and you know in the classroom everybody is different. Find out what workout works best for you and consistency is key, you find out what works, and stay consistent.”

The University of California San Francisco Health website recommends that people should, “Be physically active for 30 minutes most days of the week. Break this up into three 10-minute sessions when pressed for time. Healthy movement may include walking, sports, dancing, yoga, running or other activities you enjoy.”
In order to find a workout that works best for an individual, try to start small and try a lot of different activities is a good place to begin. Some people might like to do a different workout every day, and some might prefer doing the same workout routine. That’s why it’s important to experiment and see what works best. Once that sweet spot has been found, doing anything that keeps the body moving every day consistently will help a person stay fit and healthy.
