Three is better than one and that’s why Mrs. Smith, Mr. Stahlke, and Ms. Quidato are teaming up to destroy the door-decorating competition. Shadow Ridge has a yearly door-decorating contest for the competitive teachers who like to win and enjoy the holiday spirit. Although these three teachers are thinking outside the box with an interactive collaborative design and challenging the students.

The three plan to have an investigation through the doors, the idea comes from Mr. Stahlke’s Forensics class that searches for evidence. At each door will be a QR code for students to scan, it will bring these students to a form; there students will select what room they are at and complete the section by collecting evidence and continuing on to the next door.
“We like that we are bringing a fun interactive concept to the contest,” said Mr. Stahlke. “We want to bring the Christmas spirit and win the competition.”
This is not just to bring the Christmas spirit but also fun for the students. Students get something no other teachers have thought to give students through the door decorating contest. Students can spend time investigating the doors during appropriate times as a break from the educational day and drama of Shadow Ridge. It is not only fun for students but also the teachers hosting it.
“We really have fun decorating the doors, I painted the things on my door and made them which I enjoyed,” Mrs. Smith said. “I am a competitive person so I put lots of effort into making my door look nice.”
The teachers are passionate about the school and believe decorating the doors brings a sense of spirit and community for students at Shadow Ridge. The doors can be spotted in the 900’s and 300’s halls and to help students find these doors they can search for the doors with characters from the Grinch. The three picked this movie because it is a childhood classic that shows what Christmas is really about and related the classes they teach to it through the investigation and its themes.
So students in the area are encouraged to check out the doors of all these teachers and support them. The door-decorating contest is competitive but teachers challenge themselves and rise to the challenge and think outside of the box. With finals week and the holidays almost here students need to appreciate the teachers like Mrs. Smith, Mr. Stahlke and Ms. Quidato who work hard to make school enjoyable for the students.
