As the holiday season approaches, Shadow Ridge’s Choir program lit up with festive spirit on December 10th as its talented choir students presented their annual winter concert. The auditorium was filled with students, parents, and community members eager to celebrate the season through music.
The concert featured a diverse program, blending traditional carols with contemporary tunes. The choir’s harmonies echoed beautifully throughout the auditorium, showcasing their hard work and dedication to choir. From classic pieces like “Silent Night” or “Jingle Bells” to more upbeat pieces, the performance captivated the audience’s eyes, evoking feelings of warmth and nostalgia.
Junior Jeremiah Sepulveda has been a part of the choir program for nearly 2 years now, he is currently a tenor and is a part of both Advanced and Chamber Choir. Sepulveda’s vocals echoed throughout the entire performance, capturing the true holiday spirit. Sepulveda shares that choir has made him a really outgoing person. Sepulveda loves the choir program because there is so much happiness and cheer to share with one another.
The winter choir concert was an event filled with festively decorated students who were dedicated to sing in front of hundreds of people. Each piece talent fully sung by the choir students highlighted the true meaning of Christmas spirit. The event not only highlighted the students’ musical abilities but also brought the community together, strengthening the importance of arts in education and the infinite power of music during the holiday season. The success of this year’s winter choir concert has set a high bar for future performances at Shadow Ridge High School.

Freshman Aniya Jemison played a jaw dropping part in the concert. Her impeccable vocals echoed throughout the auditorium, leaving the audience’s jaws dropped and their eyes mesmerized. Jemison loves the connection between her friends and others in choir. It’s a family-like bond that is sacred and special to her. Jemison highlights that they may all be singing the same song, but they are all telling a story. She believes choir is not just another class, but a place to get away from the “real world” and to express themselves through their voices.
“We are connecting through music on a much deeper level than the eye can see,” Jemison shares, “We are connecting music to our everyday life.”
