Shadow Ridge High School offers many diverse clubs that allow students to express their creativity and art skills. One of these clubs is Art Club. Art Club, held in room 315, is a great, welcoming place for students who want to expand their art skills, creativity, or just want to relieve stress.
Led by enthusiastic art teacher Christina Mazzone-Jackson, the Shadow Ridge Art Club provides a welcoming, vibrant space where students can explore different forms of artistic expression all while connecting with peers who share similar interests. The club meets after school and encourages all students, regardless of their experience level, to participate and enjoy the creative process.
“We use things like oil pastels, paints, tie-dye, and markers just to name a few,” said Mazzone-Jackson.
Each exciting meeting offers students the chance to try innovative new materials and techniques, giving them the freedom to experiment and discover what they love most about art. Beyond the valuable artistic skills students gain, the club also focuses on keeping a friendly, nurturing community and emotional well being among students.
“Art Club is open to anyone that goes to Shadow,” Mazzone Jackson explained. Â
“Attending Art Club is a great way to relieve stress after a stressful day at school. It is a way to make friendships while creating art. Whether it is making art with the planned lessons or just making your own thing.”Â

Art club provides a chance to express emotions, relieve stress, and connect with others who appreciate creativity in all its forms. Whether they’re following a planned project or creating something entirely their own, students leave each meeting with new skills, new friendships, and a deeper appreciation for the power of art. At Shadow Ridge High School, Art Club continues to be a place where creativity thrives, friendships form, and students learn that art truly brings people together.Â
