As the mustache trend took the world by storm, it also made its way into Shadow Ridge High School. At Shadow, two spectacular staches have crossed the campus: that of senior Toby Nelson, and student teacher Noah Parker. Who has the best stache is the real question. Parker and Nelson have decided it is time for the competition to come to an end. So, who will it be?
Parker has several reasons why he believes that his mustache should reign on top of the stache of all staches.
Parker says, “My moustache journey has been one that I’ve wanted to venture into for a while now. I always believed that I had the facial hair genetics to grow a beard, but early on I noticed that my sides would never connect and I would be left rocking a Balbo, so I made a conscious effort to never have facial hair. Looking back, I can say that was a grave mistake as my moustache has been a focal point to my appearance over the last year and a half and a constant talking point with others. There’s not much care that I do other than simple trims, but the simplicity is what scares me the most. One wrong move, one accidental sneeze, and half of your mustache is in the sink. Even with these scary possibilities, I truly love and adore the thing growing under my nose. It gets me into the teacher lounge without weird stares, I’m complimented daily, and my girlfriend can’t get enough of it. What’s there not to like!”
Though Parker has many compelling reasons why his mustache is the best, Nelson also has a spectacular stache and many reasons himself.
“I have the best mustache at Shadow Ridge High School for a plethora of different reasons. I’ve had the mustache for as long as most people can remember in high school which makes it more special than anyone else’s. Anytime I shave it off everyone begins to freak out, interrogating me about why it’s gone and telling me how I shouldn’t have cut it off. These people are so used to me with a mustache that when it’s gone it’s like I’m a stranger and something is off. The great part about this is that it will instantly be back within a week. No other person at Shadow Ridge has the ability to grow a mustache back as quickly and as good as I do. Having this mustache has been a long journey filled with countless memories along the way, I’ve grown an identity around the school as the guy with the mustache and it’s now just a natural part of who I am,” Nelson says.
