At Shadow Ridge, students have several fun after school clubs to choose from, and Fashion Club is one of them. In Fashion Club, students have the opportunity to express themselves through any activities they do in Fashion Club. Students who are interested in joining Fashion Club can participate by staying after school from 1:30-2:30 in room 308. However, times can differ.
Senior, Rylee Cainglet, the Fashion Club President at Shadow Ridge stated, “Fashion Club is where you get to express who you are through clothing and crafts.”
For example, on September 6, students who showed up to Fashion Club that day, made their own bracelets. Something about Fashion Club that spikes students’ interest is that they are able to dig into their heart and mind to make their very own creations. Students who join Fashion Club get the chance to make new friends based on each other’s ideas, same interests, or just simply communicating with each other.
It’s a hands-on club that allows students to show what they love or what they are passionate about. In Fashion Club, they usually tend to have activities planned for each meeting, however students are able to share their ideas or give a recommendation.
On the Fashion Club’s Instagram page, @srhsfashion_club, they share when and where meetings are being held, and what they will be doing that day. Students can also find who is a part of the Fashion Club and what roles they have. Those who join Fashion Club also get the chance to explore new interests, develop leadership skills, improve social skills, and boost college applications if students are interested in going to college after high school.
Joining Fashion Club not only reduces stress and gives students the opportunity to express themselves creatively, but it also improves their self esteem. When anyone, not only students, succeed in the activities they love, their self-confidence will improve. Whether students are struggling with stress from school or even outside of school, Fashion Club is always a place students can go to escape any stress or troubles they may be dealing with.
