Shadow Ridge High School has a lot of amazing lunch options. Students love all the great food Shadow Ridge provides for the students. They especially love the student store which sells a specific fast food for every day of the week.
The student store sells Chick-Fil-A sandwiches for $6 on Monday, Makai Island for $7 and even Port a Subs in the athletics office for $8 on Tuesday, Panda Express for $6 on Wednesday, they have both Wetzel’s Pretzels for $6 and Pizza Nation for $8 on Thursday and Raising Cane’s that comes with a drink of choice (water or gatorade) for $10 on Friday.
Junior Freya Pietras states,“I adore Raising Cane’s, Raising Cane’s Slaps.” She continued to say, “I really like the chicken tenders, special sauce, and the toast, everything from Cane’s is amazing really.”
It’s nice that the district provides free lunches for everyone, but I wish that they had more variety.

Raising Cane’s might be the most expensive, however it’s the most popular among students, they love everything Cane’s sells, especially the toast and chicken tenders.
Sophomore Holly Cheyne says “Cane’s is the best thing they sell for lunch, I don’t really like much of what the school serves, but Cane’s always make my day. However I always have to run to the student store line before it gets too full and there’s no more Cane’s.”
Students love the Raising Cane’s, however some students like some other food from the student store.
Sophomore Kai Wood says,“I like Pizza Nation the best because it’s good.” He then said “I like how it comes as a whole big pizza box with 6 slices, it’s enough so I can share it with my friends and girlfriend.”
While most students do prefer food from the student store there are also some who do like the school lunch provided by Shadow Ridge High School.
Sophomore Antonio Alvarez states, “I really like the cheese sticks the school provides sometimes, I get them every time it’s served.”

There’s a lot of other great Shadow Ridge lunch options; some other popular ones are the cheese pizza, bean and cheese burrito, mini corn dogs, and the spicy chicken sandwich.
“My favorite school lunch is the spicy chicken sandwich, all my friends like it too,” senior Adrianna Gomez says. She continued to state, “Although I also notice that it isn’t really fresh. Thankfully as you get into middle school and high school they have student stores and vending machines.”
Some students prefer the student store, some the provided school lunch, and some the vending machines. There’s something for everyone at Shadow Ridge High School.
