Many Disney movies made it to the big screens during the summer of 2021; Black Widow, Cruella, Luca, and Jungle Cruise were released in theaters and on Disney +. The movies are exciting, funny, and family friendly with some surprising twists and turns. The creators of each movie took a lot of time and effort to create them and make them enjoyable for everyone.

“Natasha Romanoff, aka Black Widow, confronts the darker parts of her ledger when a dangerous conspiracy with ties to her past arises. Pursued by a force that will stop at nothing to bring her down, Natasha must deal with her history as a spy, and the broken relationships left in her wake long before she became an Avenger,” explains Rotten Tomatoes.

Black Widow is an action packed movie, with lots to learn about Natasha and her past, and how it makes her who she is.

Cruella is a live action film that is more based on Cruella De Vil’s childhood as a rebellious and fashionable villain.

“Cruella, which is set in 1970s London amidst the punk rock revolution, follows a young grifter named Estella, a clever and creative girl determined to make a name for herself with her designs. She befriends a pair of young thieves who appreciate her appetite for mischief, and together they are able to build a life for themselves on the London streets. One day, Estella’s flair for fashion catches the eye of Baroness von Hellman, a fashion legend who is devastatingly chic and terrifyingly haute, but their relationship sets in motion a course of events and revelations that will cause Estella to embrace her wicked side and become the raucous, fashionable and revenge-bent Cruella,” states Rotten Tomatoes.

Cruella goes through lots of loss throughout the movie, which helps shape her new villainous side. The triumphs and trials that Cruella faces during this movie, show that no matter what life throws, there is always a way to come back better and stronger.

Luca is an animated coming-of-age movie that will show viewers that it is okay to be different, and to embrace their differences because being the same is boring.

“Set in a beautiful seaside town on the Italian Riviera, Disney and Pixar’s original feature film Luca is a coming-of-age story about one young boy experiencing an unforgettable summer filled with gelato, pasta and endless scooter rides. Luca shares these adventures with his newfound best friend, Alberto, but all the fun is threatened by a deeply-held secret: they are sea monsters from another world just below the water’s surface,” quoted Rotten Tomatoes.

Luca will pull on viewers heart strings, from happiness, anger, and sadness. There are lots of twists in this movie that will keep viewers guessing what will happen next.

Jungle Cruise is based on the fun and hilarious ride in Walt Disney World. The skippers on the ride make it the best experience for riders of all ages.

“Based on Disneyland’s theme park ride where a small riverboat takes a group of travelers through a jungle filled with dangerous animals and reptiles but with a supernatural element,” said IMDb

The movie adds a new aspect of thrill with the supernatural elements. It really shows the light-heartedness of the ride, but with the thrill that keeps viewers at the edge of their seats.

Disney released these movies to build the audience’s knowledge on new and beloved characters and rides. These four movies are fun and entertaining to watch with people of all ages.
