The Umbrella Academy Season 3

Netflix’s Umbrella Academy season three has been confirmed! The new season will be premiering on June 22, 2022, and will have ten episodes in total. It has been nearly two years since the second season was released, and because of this, fans were very excited when all of the @UmbrellaAcad social media accounts set the date.

The first season starts off by showing the background of the main characters. In the year 1989, a total of 43 children were mysteriously born at the same time, day, and year. This is weird because there were no signs of pregnancy before the incident. Each kid was given a different superpower.

Only seven are adopted by a strange billionaire by the name of Reginald Hargreeves. Viewers get to see how their new father raises the kids in a strict and abusive household. Although, they have a mother figure in the form of a robot named Grace. There is also a talking Monkey that goes by the name Pogo, he is one of the “Caretakers.” Once the seven children start to get more in touch with their powers, they are formed into the superhero team, The Umbrella Academy. All of the children are also referred to as numbers, according to how useful their powers are. After twenty years of living separate lives, their father dies which leads to the siblings reuniting.

In both seasons one and two, the siblings are forced to try and prevent the end of the world in only a matter of days. In the final episode of season one viewers can see that five (who has the power to jump through space and time) can teleport the siblings to a different year so that they can find safety. Little did they know, this didn’t end up how they wanted it to. Technically, the second season takes place fifty-six years earlier than the first one because of the time-traveling, but each character ends up in a different year from the events of the first season. They are scattered between the years 1960 and 1963 in Dallas, Texas.

After a handful of events that happen throughout the season, the family finally finds their way back to each other. Of course, it isn’t that easy since the last episode left the viewers with a cliff-hanger. “Me and my sister have watched both seasons together and we loved it. I love how they are bringing in a new concept for the third season, and can’t wait to see how it plays out,” says senior, Erika Gallardo.

The upcoming season will introduce the Sparrow Academy, as shown in the 14-second teaser trailers that have been released by numerous websites. On February 15th there was a thread of the seven main character posters for the new season posted on the Umbrella Academy’s Twitter account. The posters showed a bird looming over the black umbrellas. This was a perfect way for new cast members to be introduced to the show.

“Smart, stylish, and about as warm as a sea of icebergs, the Sparrows immediately clash with the Umbrellas in a violent face-off that turns out to be the least of everyone’s concerns. Navigating challenges, losses, and surprises of their own – and dealing with an unidentified destructive entity wreaking havoc in the universe (something they may have caused) – now all they need to do is convince dad’s new and possibly better family to help them put right what their arrival made wrong,” Netflix’s summary explains. “Will they find a way back to their pre-apocalyptic lives? Or is this new world about to reveal more than just a hiccup in the timeline?”
