The Moapa Valley pumpkin patch, which is also heavily known for their haunted corn maze and numerous other activities is a great place to have fun. According to the Moapa Valley Corn Maze website, it first opened in 2014. Ever since then the pumpkin has been a great hangout spot, especially with family and friends. They have different wristbands that can be purchased which include different amounts of activities like a haunted hay ride, the shriek shack, Zombie paintball, as well as a kids section. While all of the wristbands just depend on people’s preferences, the haunted purple wristband includes the most activities to do.

When they first opened this attraction there were many pros and cons. For example, people found that the atmosphere was overall very positive, spooky, and fun while others complained the lines were too long, it wasn’t scary enough, the prices were too high, and some people complained about pests which was all addressed on the Moapa Valley Corn Maze website. Over the years they have made adjustments due to people’s suggestions and it’s been a hit to most people.
A friend group from Shadow Ridge High School all decided to go together and enjoyed bonding with one another. They got there around 4:30-5 p.m. and visitied the bounce pillow, haunted hayride, and petting zoo, before going through the corn maze, so they could get the full experience.
Halia Zimmermann, a sophomore at Shadow Ridge stated, “It was really fun and I got to be with all of my friends. They had a petting zoo and I really like petting zoos. There was a haunted corn maze and I was scared but I didn’t scream, I laughed.”
Even though the entirety of the corn maze wasn’t scary, there were times where the group was genuinely spooked and even messed with some of the actors to get their reactions.
Another sophomore at Shadow Ridge, Isabella Parra stated, “It was fun and scary, not to mention Halia and I dominated in tug of war.”
The area that looked like a typical pumpkin patch included a bunch of things like a giant swing, play structure, some trampolines, an area for zombie paintball, a food area, and much more.

While bouncing on the trampoline, sophomore Vashti Albonetti stated, “It was fun, we walked around and did all of the activities and I even knocked out a child, by accident of course.”
Moapa Valley may seem small but their seasonal festivities are nothing to be missed, especially when it comes to the haunted corn maze. It has unlocked so many core memories to so many people and really gives people a break from their daily routine.
