RetroEscapes is a newly announced theme park concept for Las Vegas. Led by TikTok influencer Daniel-Leo Jr., the park will feature indoor and outdoor lands themed to American pop culture from the 1950s through the 1990s, plus a “Tomorrow Zone” offering a futuristic preview. RetroEscapes promises nostalgia for older people, and a blast to the past for teenagers.

“I’m very excited for this theme park to open. I’ve been to many theme parks like Six Flags and Universal Studios but this one might be my favorite and it will be so cool that it’s right here in Vegas. When it opens I’ll definitely go with my family and friends. I love the music in the 1970’s especially September by Earth, Wind, and Fire,” says Jackson Flagg, a very excited sophomore.
This decade themed theme park will have five different lands, each representing a different era. Confirmed themed areas include a 1950’s a pink and teal-hued land featuring a restaurant called “The King”, a 1960’s a groovy land focused on peace and love, with a coffee house, a 1970’s glitzy, glamorous disco-themed area featuring a disco ball with mirror balls, a 1980’s “decade of descendants” land, including a Pac-Man themed game bar and a mall-themed food court, and a 1990’s a grunge-themed area featuring a skate park. Other experiences will include, Tomorrow Zone which will provide a glimpse into the future and immersive experiences. The park plans to offer a full range of attractions, including rides, dining, shopping, and live entertainment that are customized to the aesthetic of each decade.

The theme park is still in early conceptual development. A location, construction timeline, and opening date have yet to be determined. However the design team, PGAV Destinations, who has worked on projects at Epcot and Seaworld, is handling the design work.
Some fun activities that have been announced on their website are a 1990’s Throwback Jams Night, 1950’s Sock Hop Extravaganza, and 80’s VR Gamer Night. Obviously there are several activities for Shadow Ridge students to enjoy.
James Leavitt loves the book “Ready Player One,” that can be found in the Shadow Ridge Library, and is a book made about a future society kind of like Retro Escapes Tomorrow Zone.
Las Vegas is ready for this blast to the past and back to the future that RetroEscapes offers. It sounds like they will have countless activities and fun!
