One of Nevada’s many public colleges is UNLV, University of Nevada, Las Vegas, that has decided to offer summer camps this year, 2025, to high school students. This is an amazing opportunity for anyone who wants to get to know this great college.
Junior Leah Pullins is graduating high school early and has already been accepted into UNLV. As someone who has their sights set on the Nevadan college, Pullins is eager to find out what camps UNLV will be hosting.
“I’m interested in what camps they will have this summer because it might help me get to know the campus and people there a little bit better,” Pullins says.
This year, UNLV has planned a “Summer Series” in which there will be five different camps to choose from. The classes are called “Meaning of Life,” “Empowered Women, Empower Women,” “Witnessing History: The Mob Museum,” Pathway to Success,” and “UNLV Mock Trial Summer Workshop.” Each camp will be held all day, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. As for age requirements, all of the camps are available to students who will be in grades 8-12 for the 2025-2026 school year and recent high school graduates, except for the “Mock Trial Summer Workshop,” which is only available to students in grades 9-12.

Sophomore Elise Gwin is another student who might want to attend one or more of these cool camps just to find out more about them.
“The UNLV summer camps look so cool, especially with all of the classes they offer,” Gwin comments. “I’m excited to check them out!”
The “Meaning of Life” camp will be held on June 2-6 and has a fee of $50. During this camp, students will consider the meaning of life and how it connects to leading their own lives. Throughout the week, connections will be made between leading a meaningful life and preparation for the journey of college.
The “Empowered Women, Empower Women” camp will be held June 9-13 and has a fee of $150. Students will be introduced to empowerment principles and skills through various sessions from the staff, and girls will also learn about the complex history and reality of women’s experiences and how this reflects their own experiences.
The “Witnessing History: The Mob Museum” camp will be held June 16-18 and has a fee of $100. Students will step into the past and uncover the stories that have shaped American society.
The “Pathway to Success” camp will be held June 23-27 and has a fee of $150. This week is designed to prepare students for their future lives through financial and professional development. The faculty of this program will guide the students into gaining the confidence and knowledge to be financially literate individuals.
The “Mock Trial Summer Workshop” camp will be held July 21-25 and has a fee of $50. This camp offers a unique opportunity for students to engage in the legal community of Southern Nevada. They will hone their abilities in public speaking, critical thinking, writing, and will be empowered to advocat for themselves with confidence and clarity.
When reflecting on which camps would be the best, Pullins has a hard time choosing.
“Even though they all look great, I think that the “Pathway to Success” camp might be really beneficial in helping me decide on what I want to do in the future,” Pullins says.
All of these amazing camps also provide lunch everyday at the UNLV Dining Commons, which is an all-you-can buffet.
