This summer, the popular boy band, “The Backstreet Boys,” are taking the stage at the largest spherical structure in the world, the Las Vegas Sphere. The Backstreet Boys will be performing an 18 show residency on various dates spanning from July 11 to July 27 and August 1 to 17, 2025.
The Backstreet Boys’ last performance together was during their DNA tour that concluded in May of 2023. Since then, they have been planning for their residency at the Las Vegas Sphere. Although The Backstreet Boys were formed back in 1993, they have maintained the same original five members to this day including Nick Carter, Howie Dorough, AJ McLean, Brian Littrell, and Kevin Richardson. In these shows at the Sphere, they are reviving their “Into the Millennium” tour from 1999 and will be playing some songs from the album as well as their greatest hits and classic songs such as “I Want It That Way” and “Larger Than Life.”

On their website, The Backstreet Boys share, “We are bringing the ‘Into the Millennium’ tour to this state-of-the-art facility where we can do things we could have never imagined back in ’99.”
The Sphere revolutionized concert venues and the concert experience with its 167,000 speakers, a 16k resolution wraparound LED screen, and a 160,000 square-foot LED screen that covers half of the interior. This creates a unique concert experience for the viewers, almost completely immersing them in the concert with the specially made visuals and advanced sound system. The Backstreet Boys will be the first pop act to perform a residency at the Sphere, and are the sixth musical artist to have performed a residency at the Sphere overall.
Mrs. MJ, an art teacher at Shadow Ridge comments, “I enjoy a good 90’s boy band! It’s exciting to have The Backstreet Boys have a residency at the Sphere! The Backstreet Boys have very singable songs that I enjoy.”
The Backstreet Boys’ songs, like many other boy bands, are very prominent in the singing parts, especially the harmonies.
“Since I love to sing, and love a good boy band, I will definitely be checking out their show. However, I would love it even more if it was NSYNC!!!” MJ explains.
At heart, MJ is still a hardcore NSYNC fan, but she appreciates all 90’s boy bands, including The Backstreet Boys.
Like MJ, fellow Las Vegas citizens and students at Shadow Ridge High School can look forward to this unforgettable one-of-a-kind show at the Las Vegas Sphere.
