On March 7th, 2025, a concert was held at the hotel and casino MGM Grand. The performance was of Tyler the Creator’s newest album, Chromokopia. He is a popular rapper who has been touring since February 2025 and is set to end the tour on September 21st, 2025.
Many students at the Ridge attended the concert with family and friends, including two seniors at Shadow Ridge Elaina Smith and Ala Wisniewski. The concert set new expectations for them, as both girls are big fans of Tyler’s music.
“It was one of the best experiences of my life. The people, the music, the outfits, the vibe was just all so perfect. There was nothing about the night that lessened my experience at all,” mentions Smith.
Wisniewski added, “I felt my soul ascending. That was the best concert I’ve ever been to. I would do anything to experience that night again or even to see another show, it was truly an experience like no other, and I would highly recommend it for anyone else to go too.”
The concert was in full swing by 8:00PM, with the show starting at 7:30PM, and the doors opening at 6:30PM. The line was very long with the amount of people who attended, however when both girls made it inside, they met up with each other while buying merch and stayed together to the end.

Smith comments, “I went with two of my best friends, Preslee and Brendan. Brendan was actually able to get us presale tickets and we’re all big Tyler fans, so it was a no brainer.”
“I went with my best friend Olivia Nowak and later we ran into Elaina, Preslee, Brendan, Bella, and Grace. I think being surrounded by people I love during the concert actually made it so much better, even though we were just waiting in the merch line together,” says Wisniewski.
The two had different favorite parts of the concert as everyone’s thoughts are different. Both the girls would recommend listening to his music, as well as attending his concerts. In other words, the experience these seniors went through will stick with them forever.

“Tyler the Creator has been my number one most listened to artist for the past couple years and I think seeing him perform only solidified his place there. He’s an amazing artist and performer, he incorporates all of his albums seamlessly and portrays his personality to the audience like no other. My favorite parts were the lights, the props/setup, and his outfit change. Furthermore he has some of the best, if not the best, merch I’ve seen at a concert, there were three different booths to buy merch and the line was consistently wrapped around the place. My favorite songs he performed were Balloon, She, IFHY, See You Again, Judge Judy, Dog Tooth, New Magic Wand, Like Him, and Wusyaname,” comments Wisniewski
Smith mentions, “It was awesome when he came over to the B stage on the catwalk. Our seats were a good 50 feet away from him so our view was amazing. He sang his fan favorite songs from his old albums so the energy was high. I loved it. I just love him even more. Of course his music is great but I really enjoyed the way he interacted with the crowd and how funny he is.”
