Here at SRHS there are many rising student athletes. Each of these upcoming athletes all have bright futures and exciting plans for what they are going to do with their sports and the plans they have made involving their sports.

Softball at SRHS has been a place for community and sanctuary.  Alina Pavlovich, sophomore, is just a young 15 year old softball player who plans to play softball after high school and to make something out of all the hard work she has put in.

I love seeing my daughter accomplish her goals.

— Yadira Pavlovich

It’s been very impressive seeing Pavlovich making varsity as a sophomore in high school. The softball community is very competitive and making varsity as a sophomore is a hard thing to accomplish. She has taken pride in the work she has put in to get to the spot she has.

“Being able to make varsity has always been a goal of mine. Since I was in middle school I knew I wanted to make varsity and show how good of a player I am and how much I can accomplish. I am so grateful for the opportunities I have been given and the support I have gotten from my coaches, teammates, and parents,” Pavlovich stated.

Pavlovich has always been a supportive teammate herself and has made sure she has shown love and gratitude towards the people who have supported her the most. She knows that without them supporting her and cheering her on at every game she wouldn’t have been able to accomplish what she has.

She is most grateful towards her grandparents and her parents for always pushing her to keep going and to not give up when things get tough. They always showed support to her and her aspirations.

“Family is very important to me and has always been an important factor in my life. Without the support of my loving family I wouldn’t be where I am today, with softball, school, or just the person I have become today. To me nothing is more important than my family,” Pavlovich stated.

Pavlovich also believes that school is a very important factor and her biggest responsibility. She knows that without good grades she would be ineligible to play, so she pays attention in school, and does the best she can to turn her work in on time. She thinks that playing sports is a privilege and that in order to play her sports she needs to have good grades and maintain her responsibilities.

“School is a big factor in my life. I do the best I can to maintain A’s and B’s. Part of the plan is for me to go to a good softball college, and I need more than skill to get into the college I want. School is my biggest responsibility and I need to maintain the best grades possible. Playing is a privilege and one that I really love and appreciate, and I never want to lose the privilege of playing,” Pavlovich stated.

Pavlovich is proud of her accomplishments and hopes to continue her softball career after high school graduation. She is an amazing rising athlete and thanks to the amazing support of coaches and teammates, she is having an amazing season here at SRHS.
