Childhood nostalgia resurfaces as games like Bop It and Operation are built to life size. As a way to heal an individual’s inner child, the Luxor Hotel and Casino is bringing board games to life. An immersive experience designed for competitive bonding with friends and family is brought to the Las Vegas Luxor by the Play Social Inc. The hotel is endorsing their newest interactive attraction, the Play Playground.
The playground opened on January 18, 2024. This excited many Las Vegas residents and tourists, who were eager to join in on the fun. Through this playground experience, the Luxor hotel is achieving its goal of becoming the most dynamic hub for immersive entertainment and experiences.
To fully indulge in the childhood reminiscence, the playground starts off with a slide for guests to enter the playground. Guests are directed to slide down the slide in order to have access to 20+ games offered in the playground. The games offered in the playground are life size puzzles, team based, or pure competition between groups. In order to gain access into the Play Playground, tickets need to be purchased online or in person. Since Shadow Ridge students are under 21, tickets are “Jive Until Five” which cost $32 and allows guests to enjoy the fun until five pm. This specific ticket includes credits for 12 games total. The playground also offers party booking options which are perfect for large Sadie’s, Prom, or graduation groups. Many opportunities for fun are presented throughout the playground and on their website playplayground.com.
Senior Kyle Guloy states, “I think that it seems like an extremely fun activity for anyone no matter their age! I tend to find it difficult to find activities my older siblings and I can do together that we could truly enjoy. However, the playground seems like something we’d definitely enjoy.”
Not only enjoyment is found within the playground, but guests will notice their inner child being healed throughout their immersive experience.
Senior Kacey Boyd states, “it sounds fun because it’s good to heal your inner child and do things you can reminisce on.”
Making memories is very important in life, especially in teenagers’ high school years when there are big events like Prom.
Senior Arionna Holmes states, “I look forward to the party playground experience with my childhood friends for my last Prom ever,” as she reminisces over old memories.
Celebrating big events with loved ones is crucial, luckily the playground offers booking for playdates and parties.
Guloy states, “I am extremely excited to host my eighteenth birthday party at the playground without any worries that my family will not enjoy the atmosphere and games,” as he excitedly explains his plan.
The playground atmosphere of vibrant colors, nostalgic games, and life size props is the cherry on top of any celebration.
