Weekends With Adele

Adele Adkins, more commonly known as Adele, is a British singer and songwriter that has gained millions of fans throughout the course of her career. After a 6 year hiatus, Adele announced her long anticipated 5th album titled 30 in November 2021 along with a 12 week long Las Vegas residency. But, in a tearful Instagram post just days before the show was to begin, Adele announced the show was canceled. After months, the show was finally rescheduled and set to start in November of this year.
During the 2010’s Adele gained major popularity with her strong voice and ballads. She’s gained 15 Grammy awards and other prestigious praise from the public and professionals. She is a beloved icon in pop music today. After her third studio album, 25, that came out in 2015 that was rewarded with Album of the Year at the Grammys, Adele went on a 6-year hiatus from music and was rarely seen in public since 2017.
“I love Adele a lot actually, I was really excited when she announced her residency even though the tickets were really expensive,” stated junior Celeste Torres.
After a long time away from the public eye, Adele was announced as the Host for Saturday Night Live in October of 2020. A few days later, Hits Daily Double announced that Adele’s 4th studio album, 30, was to release on November 19, 2021. The album did extremely well, with all 12 tracks charting on the Billboard Hot 100.
Las Vegas is coined the entertainment capital of the world and is home to many shows called residencies. Residencies are a series of concerts held in one location over a long period of time. Over the years, artists like Elvis Presley, Britney Spears, Celine Dion, Lady Gaga and many more have signed residencies with the city. With the release of Adele’s new album, a residency called Weekends with Adele was set to start in March of 2022 at Caesars Palace. But, In a sad Instagram post she told her fans that “We tried absolutely everything that we can to put it together in time and for it to be good enough for you but we’ve been absolutely destroyed by delivery delays and COVID.”
After months of no news or updates on the canceled show, Adele finally announced the rescheduled dates in an Instagram post on July 25th. The show will now begin November 18th and will last until March 23rd. In addition, 8 extra shows have been added to the original line up. “Words can’t explain how ecstatic I am to finally be able to announce these rescheduled shows. I was truly heartbroken to have to cancel them,” is how Adele announced the shows rescheduling via Instagram.
