World Records This Year

This year has been a crazy year full of unpredictable circumstances. But 2020 has not stopped the human spirit. Being in quarantine and being affected by the COVID-19 pandemic has not put a damper on people’s desire to break world records and try new things. In fact, 2020 has possibly even given people more time to work on breaking a record or the motivation to do it to fight boredom. Guinness World Records verifies and records these amazing, and sometimes insane, feats accomplished worldwide. Officials from Guinness World Records are sent to ensure that the requirements for the record are met and that no cheating was involved. Achievers of the record receive no cash reward, but are gifted a certificate and recognized for their merit. Records cover a variety of subjects and can sometimes appear to be quite random. Nevertheless, people try to beat records all the time even in the oddest situations.
