Shadow Ridge High School’s homecoming football game on September 12 was a thrilling night for the Mustangs as they defeated Canyon Springs 34-12. The packed stands were full of excited students, families, and staff, all cheering as Shadow Ridge played with energy and confidence throughout the game.
The offense was led by senior running back Trevin Young, who rushed for 135 yards and scored two touchdowns. His big runs helped the Mustangs control the game from the start and kept the crowd loud with every touchdown.

“We wanted this win for our school, especially with it being homecoming. Every play, we just focused on giving it our best and getting the crowd excited. It feels amazing to help my team come out on top,” said Young.
Shadow Ridge’s defense was just as impressive, limiting Canyon Springs to only two touchdowns and forcing several turnovers. Junior cornerback Salvatore Verba made a crucial interception that helped keep the Mustangs in control.
“Coach always tells us to keep our eyes up and be ready. When the pass came my way, I just reacted and did what I’ve practiced all season. Everyone on defense stepped up tonight,” Verba said.
The whole team showed great focus and teamwork on both sides of the ball, making this win a complete effort. Players supported each other, and the coaching staff praised the team’s dedication.

“This group of players works hard every day. I’m so proud of how they played together. Homecoming is always an important game, and they really made it memorable for the whole school,” said Head Coach Travis Foster.
