At Shadow Ridge High School, food vendors, food trucks, SRHS staff, and even student council members, help provide a wide variety of lunch options for students. Throughout the 2025-2026 school year, vendors will be set up in designated areas around campus, offering alternatives to the standard cafeteria options. Purchasing food from these vendors allows students to support the school and local businesses while enjoying convenient and affordable food choices. Students are able to pay for food with cash or card during lunch, and the school works with vendors to ensure availability and accessibility for students who would like to purchase the food items.
One of the vendors that has become a go-to spot among students is Island Fin Poke, run by Angel Drye. Located in the main quad near room 404 and serving every Monday and Friday, this stand is known for having fresh bowls that are filled with flavor. The menu includes a Salmon bowl, Spicy Ahi Bowl, Korean BBQ Chicken Bowl, California Bowl, and the Spam Musubi Bowl, each priced at seven dollars.

“Students and staff keep coming back to my stand because it is something different and on the healthier side,” Drye stated.
Out of all the different options Island Fin Poke has to offer, the California Bowl and Spam musubi are the bestsellers, because they provide a variety and a lighter sort of lunch compared to traditional lunch options.
Port of Sub, operated in the back quad by SRHS staff member Lisa Hebb, is another favorite choice around campus. This stand serves Monday through Friday and is located in the main quad near room 404 as well as the back quad. Students can choose between a turkey or ham sandwich, each served with lettuce, tomato, and condiments on the side. Every meal also comes with a bag of healthier chips, either BBQ, sea salt, or sour cream and onion. The drink options are a flavored sparkling water, Capri Sun, or a water bottle, all for only $7.00.

Louis Gervasio, junior, says, “My favorite Shadow Ridge food vendor is the Port of Sub because I like being able to choose the type of sandwich I want and it also comes with chips and a drink for a pretty affordable price.”
Another popular option on campus is Teriyaki Boy, which is run in the main quad by SRHS member Phife Sundara. This stand is open Monday through Friday and located in the main quad near room 404 as well as the back quad area and offers chicken teriyaki bowls with either rice or noodles. The rice bowls cost $7.00, while the noodle bowls are $8.00. Students are able to customize their bowl by choosing between rice or noodles, and deciding how much sauce they would like to add, or no sauce at all.
“The most popular item is the teriyaki bowl with noodles because it is tasty and very affordable,” Sundara said.
The teriyaki bowl is the most popular item not only at the Teriyaki Boy stand, but also compared to the bowls from the Island Fin Poke stand and the sandwich meals from the Port of Sub stand.
Island Fin Poke, Teriyaki Boy, and Port of Sub are just a few of the many food vendor options offered at Shadow Ridge. Each are very unique, affordable and flavorful meals that are able to give students more lunchtime options. The addition of these vendors around campus has changed lunch into a better experience for everyone.
