Shadow Ridge High School varsity soccer player, Jordan Dingman, has accepted a place at Graceland University. This senior is excited to keep playing soccer and go into a major that will be the best for her future.
Graceland University can be found in Iowa. It was founded in 1895 and affiliated with the Community of Christ, offers a wide range of undergraduate, graduate, and online programs with a focus on leadership, community engagement, and inclusivity. The campus is known for fostering a supportive, diverse environment and emphasizing development through academic, spiritual growth, as well as physical growth.
Dingman originally chose this college to live out her future years because it had an outstanding sports program as well as having a campus that is inclusive to all its students.
“I chose Graceland University because of the amazing community that I would get to be a part of. The soccer program and the campus were huge factors going into it and I fell in love with how it was all managed,” comments Dingman.
While this senior goes off to university, she will be studying psychology as a major. After she achieves her degree, she will go on to join the military and be in their psychology field.

Dingman mentioned, “I am planning on majoring in psychology, it is a constantly growing field in which we can all benefit. I plan on going into the military to become a psychiatrist.”
Even though Dingman will be busy during her college career being a student athlete, she will continue to live out the psychology dream. She is excited to be able to play soccer for a few more years, as she didn’t want her senior year to end.
“Yes, I am going to continue my soccer journey while I am up in Iowa. It has always been a part of my life and I think getting the offer to play at a higher level is going to teach me a lot of new things, as well as it being an exciting new chapter in my life,” states Dingman.
As Dingman has been playing soccer since she was young, she has earned herself many different supporters. However, Dingman feels that her mom has been her other half through her sports and academic journey.
“I’d like to say my mom has been my biggest help throughout everything. No matter what I have put her through or ask from her she is there and I am forever grateful for that,” comments Dingman.

Over the years, Dingman’s mom, Rebecca, has grown proud of her for every accomplishment that she has made over the years. She hopes her daughter will succeed in all she does while going through different life experiences.
“The time has flown by way too fast. She has been a pleasure to watch and support. There have been hard days and great days. Challenging moments where she felt like quitting and didn’t. She’s been frustrated and angry but man is she resilient and full of grit. There is no “quit” in her. She is extremely competitive on the field and passionate about the game. We are very excited for the next chapter of her journey in college and soccer,” states her mother, Rebecca.
