Senior captains Maddie Foster and Jacobi Gledhill helped lead their softball team to the playoffs with hard work, good vibes, and a lot of hustle. They kept the team focused, had each other’s backs, and made sure everyone gave it their all. Thanks to their leadership, the team’s ready to take on whatever comes next.

Foster says, “It feels really good to make the playoffs, we had to fight very hard this season to get in so it makes me feel good that all our hard work paid off.”
The biggest factor in the team’s success was the team work, having each other’s backs and being able to pick up the person next to her for the Mustangs.
Gledhill says, “It feels really great. It’s my last season playing with this team and I want to play as many games as we can.”
Coach Julia Meyn and Coach Bryan Frank played a big factor in making the playoffs by not giving up on the girls and just always believing that they can do whatever needs to be done to get there.

Foster says, “I just remember to slow the game down and take deep breaths while remembering the reason I am there to play.”
When Shadow’s Softball Team has bumps in the road they don’t give up and that separates them from other teams and why the team isn’t an easy team to beat.
Gledhill says, “I try to not put pressure on myself because if I put too much pressure on myself, then it’ll go to my head and I won’t be able to play as well so not putting so much pressure on myself allows me to just do what I know how to do and not worry about the outcome.”
Shadow’s Softball team is coming in as the underdog. Gledhill and the team have been working so hard to get to where they are, and now that they’re there, they’re are going to play as hard as possible.
Foster says, “All of the team bonding and being able to get closer to my teammates is my favorite moment of the season so far, and that will be the hardest to leave.”
Physically putting in the extra work off the field and mentally preparing to face adversity is how Foster will prepare and be ready to fight back during games to be successful in the playoffs.
Gledhill says, “I think my favorite moment of the season has been our Senior Night when all the seniors hugged each other before the game and after the game, we got to walk out with our families.”
