Every year in January, Las Vegas is home to CES, the Consumer Electronics Show. CES is a global trade show organized by the Consumer Technology Association. Every year, at CES, new innovative and groundbreaking technology is shown off to the world and this year it was no different. These are some of the standouts from this year’s CES.
The RoboRock Saros Z70 is a robot vacuum which was featured at CES 2025. The Saros Z70 is the first mass-produced vacuum with a foldable five-axis mechanical arm. This arm allows the Saros Z70 to pick up and move objects in the way of its cleaning path, allowing for full floor coverage without needing to remove obstacles

before running the vacuum. The Saros Z70 retails for $1,999.00 making it a premium vacuum. While the vacuum is out of the price range for most people, it serves as a look into what could be the future of robot vacuums.
In the audio department, CES 2025 had plenty of competition. Among these products, one stood out from the rest, the Ozlo Sleepbuds. The Ozlo Sleepbuds are sleep focused Bluetooth earphones which aim to provide the user with high quality and quiet sleep.
The Sleepbuds have a large list of features which all work towards the end goal of high quality sleep. These features include; a 10-hour battery life, passive noise-canceling, as well as biometric sensors which detect when the user falls asleep in order to stop audio.
Among all of these features, the most impressive one is the case’s built-in sensors. While the user sleeps, the case detects the noise level, brightness and temperature and uses it to deliver a sleep report to the user.

The Ozlo Sleepbuds retail for $349, but Ozlo also offers a unique subscription called Ozlo Flex. Ozlo Flex lends the subscriber one pair of Ozlo Sleepbuds for $26/mo. This comes with a warranty for the duration of the
subscription. Users can cancel the subscription at any time, upon doing so they must mail the Sleepbuds back to Ozlo.
For the final product, and the one with the most potential impact on the world, Flint Paper Battery is an eco-friendly standout of CES 2025. The lithium-ion batteries currently used to power most electronic devices are not environmentally friendly. Lithium is a scarce material, its mining is unsustainable, and the mining itself is unethical.
Flint Paper Battery aims to address all of these issues by developing a new kind of battery. Flint Paper Battery gets its name from cellulose, a key component of the battery and paper. One of Flint Paper Battery’s biggest

focuses is safety. The battery is safe when damaged as well as being burn resistant. To top it all off, the battery is rechargeable, further adding to its environmental benefits.
Between both students and teachers at Shadow Ridge, one product is the clear favorite.
Shadow Ridge High School sophomore Xavier Grafell states, “I like the Flint Paper Battery because it seems like a very efficient way to utilize batteries without worrying about the side effects and environmental impacts of using a lithium battery. Lithium batteries make battery acid, which is really bad for the environment, and using paper seems a lot safer.”
Shadow Ridge Chemistry Teacher Rebecca Cleveland states, “The flint paper battery, if it works well, that would be my favorite because I think it has more practical applications and can be used for more things, while the other options are very single use or specified. I also like the environmental friendliness of the battery too.”
