Junior, Madilyn Blackburn, is Shadow Ridge High Schools 2025-2026 Student Body President, and she is stepping into her role with a goal to make high school more fun and welcoming for everyone. Blackburn is focused on creating a strong community at Shadow, and using her position to uplift others. Her priorities are grounded in creating a high school experience that students actually look forward to.
“My biggest motivation was striving to make school a place where everyone can feel included,” Blackburn states. “I want there to be a huge sense of community so that everyone participates in after school activities and events!”
Blackburn’s goals go beyond improving student involvement, she wants these experiences to have an impact on students years down the line. For Blackburn, being Student Body President isn’t just about planning events, it’s about helping students create lasting memories and feel seen.
Blackburn continues, “I want every student to leave high school with amazing memories and a sense of belonging.”
While she’s passionate about her plans for the school, Blackburn believes it’s her personality that makes her stand out to those around her. Blackburn brings both energy and responsibility to the table. It’s the mix of humor and determination that she sees as essential for making a change at Shadow.
“I think my outgoing and funny personality, but also my ability to be serious and focus on tasks that need to be done sets me apart,” she stated.
Along with building a stronger sense of community, she also wants to make sure the campus reflects that. Blackburn wants to brighten up the campus with changes that will make a difference, imagining a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere for students to enjoy and look forward to everyday.

Blackburn states, “I’d love for the school to be more visually appealing, cleaning up the campus, and adding more life to the quad and hallways.”
Blackburn isn’t just thinking about next school year, she is thinking about the students who will come after her. She hopes to create new traditions that become a part of Shadow, giving future students something to look forward to and build on.
“I want to start school traditions that last and inspire others to jump into leadership like I did,” she says.
Blackburn is excited to leave behind something meaningful and encourage others to step up and lead. She is focused on impact, building community, and making Shadow Ridge a place where every student feels seen.
