Freshman, Alex Wisniewski, has earned a spot on the Varsity Boy’s Volleyball Team for Shadow Ridge High School. He is playing in the setter position for the 2024-2025 season and is looking forward to improving his skills while he plays with the other varsity players.
Wisniewski has been playing this sport since he was in the 5th grade. He has accomplished so much since then, being on school teams as well as club teams. He is currently playing for a club called Vegas United, otherwise known as VUVC.
He is excited to put in the work on the varsity team and learn from the head coach, Luke Wilson. Wisniewski has had many instructors and coaches during his sports career and wants to see what he will teach him over the span of his high school volleyball career.
“I am looking forward to getting better everyday and to keep grinding until the team gets what we want. We are looking forward to making it to the state championships, I have been told we have made it to them several times in the past and even winning a lot of them. I cannot wait to see how much I improve over the season,” mentions Wisniewski.

This freshman is a setter for his club team as well as being the backup setter for the varsity team. A senior named Kingston Jerome is the main setter for the varsity team at Shadow Ridge, but he will be graduating this year so the team wanted to have someone skilled and knowledgeable in the position for the coming years. Wisniewski is a coachable individual who has been scouted by the coaches of the volleyball program and they see a lot of potential in him.
As Wisniewski has had many years of experience playing volleyball, he has had to find inspiration and support along the way. He considers his parents to be his biggest supporters as they have always shown up to his games and shown him that they will always have his back.
“My parents have always been my biggest supporters. They have always been there for me no matter what and I know they will always try and make it to all my events in life whether they are big or small. They are a part of my inspiration in this sport to keep me going. I also get inspiration from knowing I am growing in volleyball and getting better over time,” states Wisniewski.

As his parents were mentioned as two of his biggest supporters, others are his sister, senior, Ala Wisniewski, and his twin brother, Jakub Wisniewski. Both his siblings are very proud of Wisniewski for becoming a varsity athlete during his freshman year of high school. His older sister wishes him the best during his volleyball career and cannot wait to see him accomplish so many things while on varsity and in high school.
“I wish for him to compete at a high level and to of course, win big titles, but I really want him to have fun with his teammates and become a player others can look up to in the future like he does with the seniors right now, like Kingston,” comments Ala.
