“The process of starting and maintaining Sebastian’s Batches, based on my experience with it, would start with recognizing a specialty you bring to the table that is or may be in demand. For me, it was making desserts that people in my life seem to enjoy. So, I wanted to make a little side hustle to sell to others,” said Sebastian Farley, the owner of Sebastian’s Baked Goods and a Shadow Ridge senior, commented.

“An important part is being courageous and just going for it as there is nothing to lose in just trying,” said Farley. “It is going up to random people and asking them if they would be interested in buying, all while being a bit afraid or embarrassed.”

“You need to stay consistent and resilient, even when you’re discouraged by disappointment. It is things like not selling as much as back then, or getting a lot of answers of no, that are discouraging. But, fluctuations happen. That is what I go by when I run my side hustle,” said Farley.
