Fashion Club was created with the intention of bringing people together who are interested in the same hobbies. Over the years, the officers have definitely brought that image to life and now three of those officers are graduating in the 2024-2025 school year. These officers include the president, vice president, and treasurer.
President Rylee Serah Cainglet has been part of the Fashion Club family since it started in the 2022-2023 school year but was appointed president this year after the past president had to move. As her final year of high school comes to an end, she wishes there was more time.
“I’m kind of sad to let this club go. I’ve seen this club go through all of its ups and downs and have seen it grow so much over the years,” Cainglet states. “It means everything to me, it’s like my child that I never want to let go of. But I am happy that I was able to do as much as I could to help build this club into something amazing!”
Holly Trapiss was appointed treasurer during last school year but has also been part of the family since the beginning and will miss creating new and long-lasting memories.
“I’m sad to leave after being part of it for so long,” Trapiss said. “But I am glad that we were able to make something that will hopefully continue to grow down the line to provide a safe space in school.”
Continuing on the memory lane, one of Cainglet’s favorite memories in the club just so happens to be both sad and happy at the same time.
“Any club meeting in Fashion Club is a core memory for me, but I definitely think my favorite was doing coloring pages and watching sad Jollibee/Filipino commercials,” Cainglet stated. “It was such a random combination, but it started a lot of conversation and friendly debates among the members.”
Trapiss’s memory is a little more subtle but definitely shows what the club is all about.
“My most memorable experience would have to be my first time attending a meeting where I brought a friend of mine along,” Trapiss says. “This gave us more time to hang out, along with a chance to reconnect with some old friends and form a solid connection with them.”
As officers of the club, both Cainglet and Trapiss have experienced personal growth and developed valuable skills.
Cainglet shares that her role has strengthened her leadership abilities and improved her time management.
“Being part of this club has helped me become a stronger leader and has stopped me from procrastinating so much,” she explains.
Similarly, Trapiss highlights how her involvement has taught her the importance of preparation and adaptability.
“I have learned to plan months in advance and easily go with the flow when plans change. Along with this, it has made me remember that it is important to keep creativity in my life,” she adds.
The vice president of this club is Camryn Lumada-Williams, and she too will miss being part of such a wonderful club.
If any student is interested in being a Fashion Club member, they should talk to the advisor, Melissa Kehr, in room 308 to get a form. The form must be signed before joining the club!
