Shadow Ridge’s Bowling fundraiser is officially live! The awesome students on the Bowling Team and their head coach, Mr. Baron, are hosting an online fundraiser in order to raise money for many different things, including practices, snacks before matches, and a portion of the end of year banquet.
The Shadow Ridge Bowling Team would love and appreciate all of the money they receive from the fundraiser, as it will help raise awareness for their sport.
“It is important because I believe it will help promote the team,” Baron says.
In the store there are a wide variety of clothing options, footwear, hats, player essentials, and fitness equipment. Then there’s other fun goods such as blankets, games, and cell phone cases. All of these items are Shadow Ridge themed as well.
The shop will close on December 2nd, so customers have limited time to get their awesome bowling merchandise. All purchases made are delivered directly to the buyers address a few weeks after the fundraising event ends.
The fundraiser is especially important to both its coach and members because of their love for the sport.
“Many students believe that bowling is just a club, but it is not. It is a sport, and our teams are very competitive,” Baron comments.
About 30 kids came to tryouts, but only 20 spots are available- 10 boys and 10 girls. While the team can be competitive, the students are tight, and they are all working together to raise money and awareness for bowling.
Baron has been the head coach for both the boys and girls bowling teams for 2 years now, and is looking forward to another season. This is the first fundraiser this year, and the bowling team has another fundraiser planned for December 4th at Chipotle.
One athlete on the bowling team, sophomore Aly Markowitz, loves her sport and is hopeful for the success of the fundraiser.
“The goal of the fundraiser is to raise money for the bowling team so we are able to get snacks during the games and afford other things like our practices and jerseys. It is also hopefully going to allow us to more freely spend money on our banquet and senior year. If we have a lot of success, we can have more fun and improve a lot more.” Markowitz said.
