Two Shadow Ridge seniors, Sam Stahl and Markus Leonguerrero, have taken to the business market by starting their own car detailing company called Starstruck Detailing. The two started the company not only for some extra money in their pockets, but also because of a passion for cars.
“We started from a shared love of cars and a desire to provide high-quality detailing services. We noticed there was a gap in the market for thorough, professional, and consistent detailing,” Stahl says.
For Stahl’s partner, it started from smaller jobs within his family and boomed into what it has become today.
Leonguerrero says, “I started off washing my family’s cars and grew a passion for cleaning vehicles. Eventually I worked up to friends and started working on more expensive cars and realized this would be a good business. I called one of my friends up and presented him the idea and we both started working. From there we’ve grown our business into what it is now.”
Though detailing cars can be hard work, both boys find a sense of accomplishment and reward from cleaning their clients cars to perfection.
Stahl adds, “The best part to me, is seeing the transformation of a vehicle and the client’s reaction. It’s satisfying and rewarding to take a car that looks neglected and make it look like new again.”
For Leongurerro, he finds the same sense of satisfaction in transforming someone’s car for them.
“The best part of detailing cars for me is seeing the customers amazed at the transformation of their once dirty cars to shiny,” says Leonguerrero.
Given the pair are seniors, there is a question of the future of their business as they transition out of high school, however there is no concern on their end.
Stahl says, “After high school, we want to keep the business going as long as possible because we believe we can make a living out of it.”
Starstruck Detailing offers several services for their customers to choose from to receive a quality clean.
“The packages we offer are a basic wash for $30 for a smaller car or $40 for a larger car. Then, for exterior and interior for a small car it would be $60 and for a large car it would be $80. However it can range depending how clean or dirty the car is,” adds Stahl.
Coming with a quality detail does come with a little bit of time, so those who are interested would need to carve a few hours out of their day.
“Our work consists of basic washes to full interior and exterior including a wax on the paint. Our details usually can take around an hour to two hours to fully complete,” Stahl says.
Though customers would need to be ok without their car for a few hours, the boys have made it convenient to get a car detail.
“For our details, we will go to them and we have a water tank that we use to complete the clean,” Stahl tells.
