In the world of high school soccer, few players command the field like Sophia Snow. As a senior, she has not only showcased remarkable skill and determination but has also emerged as a leader both on and off the field. With a great tactical mind and a relentless drive, Snow has played a big role in Shadow Ridges’s journey this season, setting a standard for excellence that inspires teammates and fans alike. As she prepares to leave a lasting legacy, Snow reflects on a career filled with hard work, passion, and unforgettable moments.
“Before the game we warmed up like usual and had a big team talk. After we had our senior walk outs and senior baskets that the underclassmen made for us. We took a lot of pictures and just enjoyed and embraced the moment we had together,” says Snow.
Having those friends and family has been one of Snow’s favorite things about senior night. Snow said that being able to see people be there for her was a really cool experience and being able to show them something she loved was even better.
Snow says, “I think a special moment for me would’ve been during halftime when our family’s letters to the seniors got read and I got to hear from them all. I think it was a little hard for me to know that this was one of the last high school games I would play.”
Being able to have those special messages from her sweet family encouraged her to stay strong and finish with all the energy she had to finish the final couple of games.
“Being on this team has shown me a lot of different things like how much I step up when needed. I think for high school you grow so much and these girls were here for parts of it with me and they helped me gain my happiness, friendships, and I love my girls,” says Snow.
She felt proud when they announced her name. Laughter and happiness went through her body as she heard all the sweet and funny things her coaches said about her during her walk.
Snow comments, “To the littles I would say as quick as it goes, try to take a minute and soak up what’s going on, be proud, and make the most of it, take lots of pictures, and don’t get upset about the little things.”
