At Shadow Ridge, students, staff members, and nearby homeowners yearn for something new. Within the past few months, there has been construction happening on N. Decatur and Grand Teton. The following places are a part of the project: Taco Bell, Lucky’s Lounge and Restaurant, AutoZone, 7-11, Gentle Dentle, Marco’s Pizza, Grand Teton Pet Hospital, Wow Car Wash and a storage facility.
Sophomore, Marvinus Johnson states, “I feel like the new Taco Bell being built will be a good addition to the things in this area, as well as provide adequate job opportunities for students and people who want to have a job that is closer to home. The Gentle Dental will also be an appreciable addition so you don’t have to go far for dentist appointments. Overall, these additions seem like they will contribute positively to our community’s local services and job market.”
D.R. Horton, who is in charge of this project, is also known for consistently delivering top-quality new homes to home buyers across the nation since 1978. D.R. Horton, Inc. is an American home construction company based in Arlington, Texas. Since 2002, the company has been the largest home builder by volume in the United States. The company ranked number 194 on the 2019 Fortune 500 list of the largest United States corporations by revenue.
With abundant teamwork and unwavering dedication to hard labor, the diligent construction workers have persevered by working tirelessly every day to bring the construction of Taco Bell to near completion. The construction workers’ relentless work ethic and collaborative spirit have not only accelerated the progress of the Taco Bell construction but have also set a solid foundation for the other ventures to follow suit.
The reason behind this project is for D.R. Horton to expand their company and to ensure new and needed things for nearby homeowners. Not only that, but Las Vegas’s population is expanding which indicates that companies need to add more places like food, gas stations, and stores. Already, just within one mile of the construction site, the population is 20,753.
According to loop.net, “Over the next five years, the Las Vegas market’s population is expected to expand by nearly 10 percent, roughly five times the national pace.”
