Blake Eecklor, a senior at Shadow Ridge, is a master at handling all of her activities. Eecklor participates in track, golf, National Honors Society, band, marching band, varsity quiz, and dance at Shadow. She is extremely organized and has found ways to find time for each of her activities in her everyday life.
Eecklor states, “I’ve always been super busy, starting with dancing at a studio when I was two. Since then I’ve continued to be a part of many clubs, sports, and hobbies. Because of this I’m able to do everything and still get A’s in school because between activities, or when I get home I get all my work done and still have a bit of time to relax and decompress. Prioritizing the important things helps me keep the balance.”
Eecklor has been incredibly busy since the age of two. She has been involved in clubs, sports, and hobbies throughout her life. Despite her busy schedule, she manages to excel academically by prioritizing her tasks and making sure to get her work done. She highlights that it is important to focus on what’s important and keep on track.
Eecklor continues, “My extracurriculars are so important to me, I like to stay busy with a plethora of activities, because each of them are very unique to themselves so I can get a very well rounded experience, and hopefully be able to continue some throughout my life.”
She enjoys being involved in a variety of extracurriculars because each activity offers a unique experience, allowing her to gain a well rounded perspective. Eecklor hopes to take some of her activities with her throughout her future.
Eecklor states, “When I have a lot going on at once it can seem a little overwhelming with sports, clubs, hobbies, school, and just life in general. When this happens I might take a day to just decompress, and then get back into the swing of things the next day since I enjoy all I do. Since I love doing a lot of activities all at once, I feel like I get stressed a little less often than usual because doing each thing makes me happy and can reduce any overwhelmed feeling.”
Eecklor explains that sometimes it can be stressful to juggle so many activities at once, but once she got the hang of it, things fell into place. She found things that help her decompress, and sometimes will take a day to relax to keep her rhythm going.
Sophomore Jayslin Hernandez stated, “Blake is very nice and extremely helpful.”
She highlights Eecklor’s kindness and willingness to help others.
