This December the Las Vegas Rescue mission is holding their 13th annual Holiday Toy Giveaway. The Giveaway event is for children in need and will take place on Saturday, December 17th from 9am to 12pm at Cashman Field.

The gift turnout this year is higher than ever, with the mission expecting to give away over 4,000 free presents to children and teenagers in need.

“The event is completely free and open to the public,” says KTNV. “Families that receive presents can expect a choir, DJ/music, a clothing/blanket giveaway, and other activities. While supplies remain, the Mission will give out at least one toy per child/teen; an adult must accompany each child/teen.”

The gift drive is a perfect way for those with spare time and the resources to help out their community to do so. The holiday season is all about giving, and the Las Vegas Rescue Mission is making that possible for anyone in Vegas who wants to help.

“The Mission requests that the community provide things for children and teenagers of all ages that do not exceed $25 worth per item, such as Legos, dolls, board games, headphones, plush toys, action figures, or gift cards,” says KTLV. They are accepting new, unwrapped toys from now until December 16th.

The Mission says that gifts for the age group 9-18 are most needed right now, and donations of gift cards to places like Walmart or Target are a great idea for teenagers in need.

Anyone who wishes to volunteer to help sort the toys can schedule a shift at https://lvrescuemission.volunteerhub.com/. Anyone who is unable to volunteer but still wants to help can drop off new unwrapped toys to 480 W. Bonanza Rd. until the 15th.

On December 17th at 9am, the event starts and participants can receive 1-2 gifts based on availability, and remember, there are over 4,000 to be given away. The event will also have snacks, drinks, and other fun activities.

“All participants must park in Lot D at Cashman and walk through the event to receive toys, snacks, and other items,” explains Las Vegas Rescue Mission.

Overall, this event is a great opportunity for both those in need and those who would like to lend a helping hand during the holiday season. The toy giveaway is anticipated to be a massive success and spread Christmas cheer all around Las Vegas.
