Ja’e Houston is currently a sophomore at Shadow Ridge High School and this is his first year as a Lariat staff member. Ja’e is a two sport athlete who strives to be the best at whatever sport he plays. Ja’e is confident that he is one of the best basketball players on both his high school team and club teams. He also plays football as a wide receiver. He has been playing multiple sports for four years, however, he wants to play basketball full time. Ja’e was put in journalism by his mother because she swears he knows all the news. While Ja’e was growing up he was always interested in the general news. He likes to share the information he learns with his mother, inspiring her wish that he join journalism. In Ja’e ‘s free time he enjoys playing video games like Warzone and Brawlhalla.
