As the football season heats up, anticipation for the next round of school games is at an all-time high. Fans, students, and players alike are gearing up for a series of intense match ups that promise to showcase the Shadow Ridge Mustangs.
Head coach, Travis Foster, said, “I feel pretty good with where we are right now. To this point we have been able to battle through some injuries. New faces have stepped up to fill those positions and as the season moves into October we hope to get a lot of those kids back for a deep playoff push.”
With the upcoming games determining key standings, the pressure is on, but spirits remain high. The Mustangs have Legacy, their rivals this Saturday at 6:00pm.
The Shadow Ridge High School Football Team is charging into the season with purpose and determination. After months of hard work and preparation, the team is poised to make a strong statement in their upcoming games. With a combination of seasoned veterans and promising young talent; expectations are high for what this year’s squad can achieve.
“I am excited about this stretch run. We are 4-2 and have yet to play our best football. We have played well in stretches. As far as playing true complimentary football and really putting our best 48 minutes together, I don’t think we have done that yet. We are still building and trying to improve each week. The best version of our team is yet to be seen. That makes me excited about the last 4 games and the postseason,” said Offensive Line Coach Tony Scaccia
As the football season progresses, Shadow Ridge High School’s Varsity Football Team is getting a boost from the junior varsity (JV) squad. Several standout JV players have earned the opportunity to move up to the varsity roster, marking a significant milestone in their athletic careers. This move comes as varsity looks to strengthen its lineup for the remainder of the season.
Shadow Ridge is focused on taking it one game at a time, but the ultimate goal is clear, making a deep playoff run. The upcoming games will be pivotal in shaping their path forward, and the team is counting on support from the Shadow Ridge community to help drive them toward success.
“I am feeling a mix of excitement and anticipation about the rest of the high school varsity football season. It’s thrilling to see how the team is progressing. I love experiencing the energy of the games and seeing the team build camaraderie. I am nervous and excited for the end of the season because I am hoping for a strong finish,” said Missy Shipp Shadow Ridge Assistant Principal
The Shadow Ridge Mustangs football team boasts a solid record of 4-2 overall and a 1-1 standing in league play. They’ve shown resilience, particularly in their recent games, including a commanding 48-21 victory over Citrus Valley in late September
Looking ahead, the team is pushing toward playoff contention, eager to improve on their standing in the competitive Class 5A. They’ve demonstrated strength in their ground game, rushing for over 400 yards in multiple matches this season, with standout performances from key players like Tyrell Craven and quarterback Ulla Cox.
Coach Travis Foster praised the team’s unity and fighting spirit, especially as they head into the critical stages of the season. As they prepare for upcoming match ups, Shadow Ridge’s focus remains on refining their offensive strategy while building on their defensive efforts.
