The Shining (1980)

Haunted by persistent writer’s block, an aspiring author and recovering alcoholic, Jack Torrance, drags his wife, Wendy, and his gifted son, Danny, up to a snow-capped Colorado’s Overlook Hotel after taking a job as a caretaker. As the days go by, Danny has visions as Jack starts going insane, turning more and more aggressive, to the point where Danny and Wendy are convinced that Jack might try to do something bad. Soon, the incessant voices inside Jack’s head demand sacrifice.
